Liz has over a decade of experience in the higher education industry. In her tenure, she has served in the role of admissions representative, dean of graduate success, faculty member, student services director and academic advisor. In addition, she has served in the roles of Director of Training and Development and Enrollment Solutions Manager. Currently, she is employed with Northwestern University as a Senior Trainer Specialist and an EnrollMatch Master Facilitator with Norton Norris, Inc.
Liz attended the University of Illinois earning a bachelor’s degree in history and secondary education. She then continued on to earn her MBA with three concentrations: Management, Leadership, and Human Resources.
Shannon Gormley has the unique combination of experience in high school guidance counseling and for-profit and non-profit higher education. Ms. Gormley has over 17 years of experience in higher education serving as an admissions advisor, student activities director, student advisor, director of admissions, and executive director of graduate recruitment.
Shannon also worked in secondary education as a school counselor; assisting students in the development of their academic, social, and career pursuits, with a focus on college and career readiness. Shannon has extensive experience in training and is currently serving as the National Director of Enrollment Solutions with Norton Norris, Inc.
Ms. Gormley holds a Master of Arts in School Counseling from Lewis University and is a licensed school counselor. She also earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Dr. Lanouette has served at all educational and operational levels in post-secondary academic institutions. His roles have included full-time faculty, Director of Education, Campus President, Senior Regional Vice President of Operations, Chief Academic Officer, and Chief Operations Officer. He has also served two-terms as a Commissioner and chair of multiple committees for ACCSC. His passion for education and training have led him to be named one of the “Top Ten Most Influential Trainers” in the career college system as well as a “Master Presenter” by NISOD. Mike has also published two books on effective teaching.
Dr. Lanouette holds a Doctorate and Master’s Degree in Instructional Design from the University of South Alabama and a Bachelor’s in Oceanography from the Florida Institute of Technology.
Carol Woodard has helped thousands of students reach their dream of becoming successful in their chosen career—while continuing to inspire the teachers who educate them. Licensed in Cosmetology, Carol has served as Executive School Director and Education Director for a large Private School in Texas, the current Chairperson for the Career Educators Alliance (CEA), and serving on the Board of Directors for Private Career Colleges and Schools as an Education Advisor.
Her public speaking engagements have gained national attention including being featured on Oprah.com and published multiple times in BeautyLink magazine. She is the author of the groundbreaking book, The Educator’s Diet: Teaching With 21st Century Recipes. Her latest book, Personal Reflections: A Journaling Companion was released in May 2016.
Dr. Jean Norris is the leading advocate for the admissions profession and is often called upon to speak at national conferences, commencements, and organizational retreats. Her research, articles, and interviews can be found in many well-known publications serving the sector.
In her 28 year higher education career, Jean served in the role of admissions representative, dean of admissions, faculty member, academic dean, vice president of marketing, vice president of enrollment, and vice president of organizational development at private schools, colleges and universities. Currently Jean is a managing partner at Norton Norris, Inc., a Chicago-based marketing/consulting/training firm focused exclusively in the higher education sector.
She began her educational pursuit in a 10-month medical assisting diploma program and went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Management from National Louis University; a Master of Arts in Communication and Training from Governor’s State University and a Doctoral Degree in Organizational Leadership from the University of Sarasota. Jean is also a Licensed Master Neurolinguistic Programming Practitioner.
Jean is the developer of EnrollMatch® – the ethical enrollment process, a comprehensive admissions training program offering proven results to balance compliance and performance. In 2015, Dr. Norris launched My Guidance Coach® (MGC), a patent-pending software allowing for 24/7 student access to pre-enrollment advising.
A graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Communication, Doug Lockwood has been working in higher education for the past 20 years. In that time, he has “lived” almost exclusively in the admissions arena and has worked in nearly every possible position in College Admissions from high school outreach and adult admissions advisor to Director of Admissions, Regional VP of Admissions, and ultimately, VP of Admissions for some of the largest groups of career schools in the country.
Ever passionate about the admissions profession and seeing it taught and executed in the most effective and compliant way, he now finds himself in a position to serve and support a wider audience of admissions professionals in partnership with Norton Norris.
Outside of his commitment to seeing Admissions “done right”, Doug enjoys spending time with his talented and artistic wife and two amazing children, as well as putting as many miles on his road bike as possible. In addition, he’s a fan of great food and wine and sharing both with good friends.
